Skye Mountaineer: here are two sample itineraries for this
course:-
Course 1:
Day 1: Traverse
of Sgurr nan Gillean, Am Basteir and Bruach na Frithe
Day 2: Traverse
of Sgurr na Banachdich, Ghreadaidh and Mhadaidh
Day 3: An easier day - rock climbing instruction and abseiling
in Torridon
Days 4 and 5: Overnight camp or bivouac in Coire Lagan or
Ghrunnda; climbing Sgurr nan Eag, Sgurr Dubh Mor, Sgurr Alasdair, Sgurr Mhic
Chonnnich and the Inaccessible Pinnacle
Course 2:
Day 1: Traverse of Clach Glas and Blaven (924m)
Day 2: Traverse of Sgurr nan Gillean, Am Basteir and Bruach na Frithe
Day 3: Boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk - ascent of classic Dubhs Ridge
to Sgurr Dubh Mor
Day 4: Rock climbing, abseiling and sunbathing on a beautiful crag by Loch
Torridon
Day 5: Round of Coire Lagan: Inaccessible Pinnacle, Sgurr Mhic Choinnich
and Sgurr Alasdair
These are only examples
from many alternative schedules. The actual choice of itinerary depends
on weather conditions, experience of the group and preferences of the group.
Each course is tailored appropriately, but any Skye Mountaineer course aims
to climb a minimum of 7 out of the 12 Skye Munros, including the most difficult
peaks.
