Winter

Our
Base: Lochcarron
is centrally placed to access all the great peaks of
Torridon, Kintail, the North-West Highlands and Skye.
The Cairngorms and Ben Nevis are also
within our compass. Our main winter courses are based
at the luxury house 'Benalbanach' which sleeps
10 in single, twin and double rooms. All courses are
fully catered with delicious home-cooked dinners. At
quieter times of the year we arrange high-quality full-board
guest house accommodation for our course clients.

Getting
to Us
is much easier than you might think. Drive
to us in less than 1 hour 45 min from
Fort William or 1 hr and 10 min
from Inverness. Total drive time from
Glasgow/Edinburgh is 3 hr 45 min
and from Manchester 8hr.

Train
services from the south link to our local Inverness-Kyle
of Lochalsh railway and we will collect
all clients from our local station at Strathcarron
on the evening of arrival.

Staff:
All courses are staffed by qualified British Mountain
Guides (BMG), Trainee BMGuides and Mountain Instructors
(MIC) with local knowledge and proven leadership ability.
Age
and Fitness: Clients
aged between 18 and 70 may join us provided they are
fit for rough mountain walking. Applicants should be
able to ascend 400 metres in an hour on a graded path
and be used to 7 to 8 hour days on the hills. Young
people aged 14 to 18 may join if accompanied by a participating
parent.
Equipment:
We can loan or hire all specialised climbing equipment
such as helmets, harnesses, ice axes, crampons and boots.
A full equipment list is sent out on booking.
The
Courses: Our
standard courses are 5 days in duration with 6 nights
full-board accommodation and all transport during the
activities provided. We meet on Saturday evening and
clients depart the following Friday morning. Courses
enable you to enjoy a full holiday package including
lectures and formal instructional sessions, sharing
experiences and challenges with like-minded mountain
enthusiasts at an economic all-inclusive price. We
also run special long weekend courses over holiday periods
and can offer 2 day weekend courses to small groups.
Private
Guiding and Weekends: If you have special
ambitions, wish to climb in different areas of Scotland
or can only join us for a weekend or a few days we can
arrange private guiding and instruction at most times
of the year and especially in periods outwith our main
course season. Our Guides and Instructors enjoy adventurous
assignments, and we can additionally arrange accommodation
and transport if required. Private guiding is available
to individuals, couples or groups. Upon payment of a
deposit we'll put you directly in touch with one of
our expert team to make the detailed arrangements. Private
guiding is flexible and personally tailored, and our
service is backed by a long reputation of quality and
