Our Base: Lochcarron is centrally placed to access all the great peaks of Torridon, the North-West Highlands. Our main winter courses are based at the luxury house 'Beinn Albanach' which sleeps 10 in single, twin and double rooms. All courses are fully catered with delicious home-cooked dinners. At quieter times of the year we arrange high-quality full-board guest house accommodation for our course clients.

The Courses: All our courses are 5 days in duration with 6 nights full-board accommodation and all transport during the activities provided. We meet on Saturday evening and clients depart the following Friday morning. Courses enable you to enjoy a full holiday package including lectures and formal instructional sessions, sharing experiences and challenges with like-minded mountain enthusiasts, all at a highly economic price.

Private Instruction: If you have special ambitions, wish to climb in different areas or can only join us for a weekend or a few days we can arrange private guiding and instruction at most times of the year and especially in periods outwith our main course season. Our Instructors enjoy adventurous assignments, and we can additionally arrange accommodation and transport if required. Private guiding is available to individuals, couples or groups. Upon payment of a deposit we'll put you directly in touch with one of our expert team to make the detailed arrangements.

Getting to us: Just 25 km from the main Rhône Valley Evolène is easily reached. Plane (or bus) to Geneva, rapid train to Sion, then the local postbus, or by train to Sion, or drive direct from Calais in 10 hours or less.

Our Chalet Base: Chalet 'Iris' is a peaceful and well-equipped base for our clients just 2 km from the village centre with twin or single accommodation. As in Scotland we provide excellent cuisine and plentiful mountain food during your stay.

Staff: All Alpine classes are staffed by qualified British Mountain Guides and Aspirant Guides. We have a regular guiding team with intimate local knowledge, who are skilled instructors and motivators.

Our Scottish courses offer several ingredients which guarantee a special experience:

  • Our wonderful mountains: the North West Highlands are the mountains I love more than any other in Britain; An Teallach, Liathach, the Cuillin - serrated ridges standing in majestic isolation above the sea
  • Variety of venues: on our courses we go to a different mountain every day -
  • No crowds, no queues, just wilderness: in other areas you'll share the hills with hundreds; on our winter courses you may not see another party all week!
  • Challenge and adventure: climbing in the North West is tougher and more adventurous than elsewhere; our guides relish the challenge of a long ridge or icy gully
  • Local expertise: our unmatched local knowledge includes over 40 traverses of the Cuillin Ridge and nearly 100 new routes with our climbing groups
  • Home Comforts: we provide excellent lodgings with home-cooked meals and personal service
