Bookings & Fees

  1. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking any course or trip with Moran Mountain. The deposit amount may vary depending on which product you choose

  2. Private and bespoke bookings are also subject to a 25% non-refundable deposit.

  3. On receipt of a booking we will honour a 24 hour period of grace in which the booking can be cancelled with full refund, thereafter, our cancellation policy applies, see cancellation clause below.

  4. The full balance must be paid 6 weeks (42 days) before the start date of the course or trip. If monies are not received by then we are not bound to hold your booking.

  5. Moran Mountain reserves the right to revise course prices in line with the rise in costs of accommodation, transportation, sustenance, duties and taxes and exchange rates.

Customer Cancellations

  1. All deposits paid on booking are non-refundable.

  2. If your final balance is paid before the 6 week (42 days) due date and you cancel before this cut off, we will refund your final balance fee minus your deposit and a £50 administration fee.

  3. In the event of cancellation less than 6 weeks (42 days) before the start date of your course or trip participants are liable for the full course fee.  Your insurance cover should include cancellation cover and we can provide any supporting information or documentation you require to make a claim.

  4. You can change the date of your course or trip up to 8 weeks (56 days) prior to the start date of your booking, however thereafter you are liable for the full fee.

Cancellations by Moran Mountain

  1. A minimum number of bookings are required for any advertised course or trip to go ahead. Clients will be informed at least 4 weeks (28 days) before holiday commencement if any course is likely to be cancelled due to lack of bookings. 

  2. In the event of cancellation of any booking by Moran Mountain clients will be offered one of the following:

    • Full refund of the fee paid and deposit; or

    • Transfer to any other course/date within the 6 months if available.

  3. All monies paid by clients in advance of courses will be insured against the financial failure of Moran Mountain Ltd as legally required by the Package Travel & Linked Travel Regulations 2018. Your booking is insured by IPP Ltd and its Panel of Insurers. This insurance is only valid for passengers who book and pay directly with/to Moran Mountain Ltd. If you have booked and/or paid direct to a Travel Agent for a holiday with Moran Mountain Ltd please request proof of how the booking is secured as you may not be covered by IPP Ltd in this instance.

  4. If we are forced to cancel or curtail a course or trip due to strike, riots, acts of war or terrorism, natural disaster or disease epidemic we will endeavour to provide an alternative holiday, but accept no liability for return of fees paid prior to cancellation or curtailment.

Risk + Safety
  1. As a walker, climber, mountaineer or scrambler, we expect and encourage you to be self reliant and accept responsibility for your own safety in the mountain or outdoor environment. We encourage you to discuss with us what is expected of you in terms of all aspects of safety on our trips. Whilst we ensure a high professional standard of instruction, care and safety, all our participants must be aware that participation in outdoor activities involves an acceptance of objective risk and of responsibility for the consequences of one’s own actions. This is the essence of an adventure pursuit.

  2. Adventure pursuits, even when undertaken with instructors and guides involves high levels of uncertainty and potential risk. No specific element of an advertised service can be guaranteed with certainty in such an environment. Furthermore, the safe completion of activities takes priority over the achievement of particular goals.

  3. Moran Mountain has an excellent safety record, however, during any adventure activity, there is potential for injury.  We require that all participants read this information and understand the potential risks.

  4. All of the activities are strictly voluntary; and it is your own choice to participate in each activity to whatever degree you deem appropriate after due consideration of your own physical health, physical abilities and medical condition. You are willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition you may have.

  5. You should have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage you may suffer or cause while participating, or else you agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage to yourself.  We do not provide health or accident insurance for participants.

  6. All participants are required to complete the 'Safety and Medical Questionnaire' which will be sent to you before start date of your booking - ​​Please Note: if despite email reminders you do do not return this form, then it is deemed that you have read and understood and accepted the above statements and conditions.

  1. You must be fully insured for the activity you are undertaking. Remember to include the travel days in the period of cover. Cover should include:

  • Cancellation/Curtailment 

  • Travel Delay/Missed Departure 

  • Medical Expenses and Repatriation 

  • Mountain Rescue 

  • Personal Accident 

  • Baggage 

  • Personal Liability 

  • Money/Documents

Our Guides & Instructors
  1. Our Guides are qualified and experienced to the required level for each course of trip and have received training to deliver the these to the highest standard. All employees have been vetted by Moran Mountain before commencing employment with us.

  2. Our Guides, Instructors and Leaders reserve the right to exclude any member from a participation on planned activities if he or she might endanger the success or safety of the rest of the party through lack of fitness, ill-health, poor acclimatisation or dangerous technique. We can make no refunds of fees paid to members so excluded.

  3. Any members of our courses or trips who act in contravention of the decisions or advice of their Guide, Instructor or Leader, or otherwise undertake independent activities during the course or trip period forfeit all professional protection and duty of care from the Guide, Instructor or Leader. 

Data Protection
  1. Moran Mountain operates in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018, and any other applicable law amending, supplementing, modifying or otherwise relating thereto.

  2. We do not sell, rent or lease our customer information to third parties.

  3. We reserve the right to use photography and video content taken during our courses or activities on our social media sites and website but only of the event itself or with the consent of the individual. 

Gift Cards
  1. This voucher is valid until December 31st 2021 from the date of issuance, and can be redeemed at anytime against any Moran Mountain trip or course subject to availability.

  2. The voucher is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full and is valid for a single transaction only.

  3. Strictly no extension of the expiry date from the date of issue will be allowed.

  4. The company retains the right to reject any voucher that has been tampered with or found in any way unacceptable.

  5. We are not responsible if a Gift Voucher is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.

  6. This voucher cannot be redeemed in order to purchase gift cards

  1. Our advertised courses and trips are open to anyone of appropriate experience in the age range 14 to 70. Young participants of 14 to 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and 17 year olds must provide a parental letter of consent. Clients over 65 years old are requested to send a Doctor's letter stating that there are no pre-existing contra-indications for the proposed activities in the client’s health records. At our discretion we may exceptionally consider applicants over 70 years old provided they have done a minimum of 2 days' private guiding and tuition with us prior to the course of trip to establish an appropriate level of fitness and skills.

  2. The information on our web-site is for guidance. We make every effort to ensure it is correct but cannot be responsible for any inaccuracies or subsequent alterations of itineraries which are beyond our control.

  3. If you have a complaint about the service you receive at any point during the course, you must notify us or the instructor involved as soon as possible to give us the opportunity to put things right. None of our instructors have authority to promise refunds or compensation on behalf of Moran Mountain.

  4. Making your booking implies that you understand and accept the booking conditions and agree to abide by them.
